Health, Safety and Wellbeing

At Toukley Preschool we ensure the Heath, Safety and Wellbeing of our children, families and staff.

We believe that all children have the right to experience quality education and care in an environment that provides for their physical and psychological wellbeing and provides support for each child’s growing competence, confidence and independence. We encourage and role model healthy eating and physical activity for children within our daily practices. Some ways we do this are through; progressive morning tea times, safe food storage and handling, discussions around healthy food choices, cooking experiences, environments set up for a range of physical activity play experiences and following a National Initiative the Munch and Move Program.

We follow the Child Safe Standards from the NSW Office of the Children’s Guardian to ensure the children of Toukley Preschool’s interests, safety and rights are at the centre of our practice.

BeYou is our Mental Health in Education initiative, which allows us to develop a positive, inclusive and resilient learning community where every child, educator and family can achieve their best.

We refer to a range of initiatives and guidelines to inform our practice and best support our children and families.
