Operational Information

Toukley Preschool Kindergarten Inc. was established in 1967 as a community based not-for-profit preschool, reliant on parents and interested community members for it's management.

We hold a licence, issued by Department of Education and Communities, to operate our preschool. Licensing checks are conducted regularly by the Department to ensure the pre-school meets licence requirements.

All of our staff are qualified and experienced. The director and teaching staff hold diplomas/degrees in Early Childhood Teaching. Additional staff hold diplomas in Childcare Studies and/or certificates in Childcare Studies. All staff attend regular in-service courses in early childhood uses and current practices. All primary care staff hold First Aid Certificates.

The preschool is managed by a community based association, of which you become a member, on enrolling your child/children. This enables you to be nominated for positions on the committee, to participate in meetings and to raise and vote on issues which concern the preschool. Committee positions are elected annually at the Annual General Meeting, held early in Term 1 of each year.

Management Committee meetings are held monthly. All parents/carers and interested community members are welcome to attend. Financial reports are available and presented at monthly meetings for approval through the Committee Treasurer. An audited financial report is presented annually at the AGM.
